Discover: photographer Jamie Stoker
Jamie Stoker is a 22 year old freelance photographer back living and working in his beloved home city of London having just graduated from the Photography BA program at the University of Brighton. Jamie works primarily as a portrait photographer, although he recently undertook a long term documentary project looking at the monster legend of Loch Ness (see it here) and has started to accept more fashion based commissions. Jamie believes photographers must be more versatile and open minded in the modern climate. If possible, Jamie prefers to shoot on film, which has been a constant love since teaching himself how to take photographs aged 17. He is massively inspired by cinema and cinematography, imagining his shots as stills before pressing the shutter. Jamie’s other big inspiration is the city of London, he loves photography that engages with the real world, and tries to capture a bit of the places and people he knows. Jamie is looking forward and excited to have successfully completed his photography education and is back home with those he loves – as well as being super excited to dedicate himself full time to shooting new work and commissions.
